Nokia P1, the flagship device of the Android-powered phone series developed by Nokia and HMD Global is all set for its official introduction in the Mobile World Congress’17 which is going to be held in Barcelona from 27th February. Speculations about its specifications are being thrown around and so far a pretty solid picture has been painted, if the rumors are anything to go by.

The handset is expected to be released in two variants, the version containing an internal memory of 128GB costing around 54,500INR and the one with 256GB costing approximately 64,700INR.

The camera is a concrete, stand-alone selling point – with a primary camera proudly showcasing a 22.6MegaPixel Carl Zeiss Lens and triple flash at the rear end. The phone records videos with a clarity of 1080p, 3840×2160 resolution at 30 frames per second (fps). The camera is also said to be incorporated with graphene sensors for the betterment of low light and night life photography. It’s almost as though all the shutterbugs out there are awaiting this release with bated breaths, almost too afraid to move, lest they disturb this unbelievable marvel!
It is said that P1 will have a 5.3” QHD display screen with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which will hopefully put an end to the incessant war between delicate displays and their relentless insistence to fall from every surface and support known to mankind!
The phone is said to mostly work on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and Z launcher which will accommodate Split Screen modes, quicker Quick Settings, new emojis and easier settings app navigations, along with a lot of new updates, both software and security related. It will also function on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Preprocessor , 6GB RAM ,2.5GHz CPU and an X12 LTE Modem, which will offer 3x more faster upload and download speeds.

P1 is said to be equipped with a 3500mAh Li-ion battery with Quick charging and sport a metal finish at the back and glass in the front with fixed gyro-meter, light and proximity sensors. The ultra powerful finger print sensor, however, is surprisingly expected to be found embedded in the home screen button in the front end of the phone, contrary to it’s usual position in the rear end. It is said to support 4G LDD-TE connectivity. It is expected to be a model with dual SIM facilities, both capable of running on 4G.
The device is IP57 certified water and dust resistant and functions on a Type C charging port and has a 3.5mm audio jack and dual tone speakers.
When Can you Buy Nokia P1
There is still no word out yet about pre-booking online and offline, confirming that all news pertaining to the phone’s release will have to wait until after the keynote speech in MWC, given by Nokia’s chair, which is expected to clear all doubts regarding Nokia’s first attempt at Android powered phones in three years. Major sellers like Flipkart, Amazon and eBay are expected to house the first few thousand products manufactured after the release and the wait and anxiety to buy the first round of phones made is making people antsy. Expectations are running sky high, Nokia and HMD sure have a lot to live up to.
If they manage to deliver everything as promised, this phone is sure to become a major hit, with sales going through the roof.
